Prison Ministry

The First Apostolic Church of Aurora has been continuously active in
Prison Ministry since 2004. Our primary goal is to teach Biblically
based doctrine, to assist residence in building a saving relationship with
our Lord Jesus Christ and living an overcoming Christian life. Since it’s
inception, the ministry has resulted in numerous men and women being
spiritually born into the Kingdom of God according the Biblical teachings of
the Apostles.

We currently have five volunteers involved in the ministry. Our volunteers
currently hold weekly Bible studies for men at the Kane County Adult
Judicial Center in Geneva, and for women at the Illinois Department of
Corrections, Fox Valley Adult Transition Center in Aurora. They also
conduct bimonthly Church services for the men at the Illinois Department
of Corrections, Sheridan Correctional Facility.

Other peripheral benefits of our volunteer services are: Helping residents
assimilate back into society, reducing recidivism rates (repeat offenders),
Correction Officers report improved behavior and moral in their facilities as
a direct result of our programs, and volunteer programs reduce the tax
burden to state and local tax payers.
